The Cotswolds are often described as the most scenic English region, and our visit to these idyllic surroundings provides an opportunity to take in the area’s charming thatched cottages and quaint rustic villages. Starting with Burford – ranked by Forbes as the sixth best place to live in the world! – we conduct a tour to explain how this part of Britain has become so very beautiful, and yet remained so untouched. You are then free to roam around the village at your own pace. Why not indulge yourself in one of the tea shops, or search for a memento among the treasures on offer at the local antiques shops? We then venture further into the Cotswolds, to Bourton-on-the-Water, known as a “Little Venice” due to the meandering beauty of its river, The Windrush.
Visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare, a town with all the drama such a site deserves. A trip to Stratford is a true literary pilgrimage to hear about one of the most celebrated and influential playwrights in human history. Hear of the mystery surrounding this totemic individual, while you come to appreciate the England from which his literary masterpieces were derived. With our guides’ in-depth knowledge of Shakespeare’s life and works, we can bring across the humour and subtlety of his canon, whilst also ensuring things remain fun and enjoyable for all group members.
